As suggested by the PGA moniker, this course is reminiscent of American Tour-style layouts, although for some reason it is marketed under a Scottish branding. At the end of the day it also cannot conceal its Danish pedigree, sitting, as it is, on a typical Cimbrian landscape. Everything about this course and about the Himmerland resort in general is big, at least "Danish big", which is smaller than "ordinary big". In any event it's the largest golf complex in Denmark, with another Sederholm design called "Old Course" on the site plus an 18 hole executive track.
As for the PGA New Course, it has the shorter of the two existing par 6 holes in Europe, which somehow seems fitting. However, apart from that hole there is nothing especially notable about the architecture. The site is gently undulating, wide open and occasionally windswept, although the conditions are rarely brutal. There's enough length to challenge good players and any blemishes on the scorecard will not be attributable to surprising twists in the hole designs. Conditioning is "as expected", in fact this is a good summary of the entire experience.
