This is actually not a bad course, but it's in the wrong location. Fleesensee is a huge family resort with numerous amenities, golf being just one of them. Consequently the place can get quite busy and that never bodes well for wide open, links-style designs. On the coast or in a secluded inland setting this type of frugal landscape fits seemlessly into the surroundings. But with group after group going off, many in carts, and much of the layout visible at all times, a rough, natural atmosphere is hard to come by.
Even though the course is very open and not brutally long, it can play difficult due to being fully exposed to the wind. Additionally, the bunkers are very deep and the rough can be penal. A few water features and the large, undulating greens do their part as well. The fairways are generally wide, but for holiday golf the routing does not provide enough excitement and the scenery is a bit too drab.
