This course has a number of interesting holes, but suffers a bit from its basic conditioning. The soil is very heavy, the fairways do not appear to be seeded and the greens don't roll the ball very well. It's still fun to play, especially the back nine.
The idiosyncrasies of the routing include an island green par 3, which apparently was deemed to be a must for any self-respecting layout. Never mind that the rest of the site is rather on the agricultural side of things.
Many rules of golf architecture were broken here, but mostly in a charming, unassuming way. It's certainly playable and some twists and turns redeem the experience. The remoteness of the site can make for a peaceful round, but any amount of traffic on the course will immediately assert itself.
