This course is surprisingly useful in all sorts of weather, which is quite rare in the higher parts of Southern Germany, where the rich soils easily saturate. Despite the typical heavy clay, the drainage works very well and the gentle undulations help to avoid the formation of collection areas, where the water accumulates.
The surroundings are quite pleasant, Alpine meadows and foothills for the most part, so a peaceful round can be had here anytime. The layout is a bit unimaginative, though, in the sense that many holes are side by side and there is a certain amount of playing back and forth on the same patch of land. Fortunately the holes themselves are relatively interesting and the wide playing areas combined with the sparse vegetation go easy on the player's ball supply.
There is a certain element of length to the course, which is not always to its advantage (e. g. the first three par 3s are repetetively long), but by and large it is managed well enough to keep shorter hitters engaged. In short, this is an unpretentious and very playable track in beautiful surroundings.
