Les Falaises - the famous cliffs of Etretat provide the playing surface for this classic layout. As could be expected from a clifftop course there are magnificent views out to the sea and of the towering cliffs. Unfortunately only on some holes and only one, the great 10th, plays directly through this most beautiful stretch of coastline.

Other than that it's an old-style track with a typical English look, that does not impose many restrictions on the players. While this is mostly a good thing, it somehow doesn't go together well with the dramatic site here. The views and a handful of holes routed over broken ground do make it worth playing, though.

It is debatable how the architectural credits should be distributed, since the original course consisted of only 13 holes and numerous modifications were made over time.
