A surprisingly long course set in the Italian Alps and a tale of two nines. The front plays through a tight pine forest and has a number blind shots. Few will be those getting through that part of the course without ever playing out of the trees. Most balls can be found, though, because the undergrowth is cleared away nicely. The second nine are set on an open plateau with gorgeous mountain views all around and enough room for errant play - but they are also a bit less quirky.

It's hard to say which loop is better, but they are certainly very different, so most players will have a definite opinion. Conditioning is fine, considering the loamy soil: it cannot play firm and fast, but that is what you get when you mix mellow terrain with high altitude. As are splendid mountain views, although in this case they are reserved for the back nine.

Some holes are repetetive, there are three par 3s of similar length and a number of shots in the pine forest are so indiscriminate, they could be on any hole. There's still some decent golf to be had, it's very walkable for a mountain course and far removed from any hustle and bustle.
